It's officially Good Friday, and while Easter Sunday is just two days away, many will be looking for a last minute egg for a loved one. Unfortunately, these confections appear to get smaller every year - but not their prices.
This has led many to reduce their Easter chocolate spending in recent years. However, if you're still keen to indulge your loved ones with an Easter treat, you might want to know where to find the most affordable branded eggs across the major supermarkets.
Sarah Barltrop of our sister publication The Express set out to see what egg-cellent Easter bargains she could find. What she realised is the best deals can be gotten through loyalty card discounts, with prices ranging from a mere £1 to £1.50.
After some quick in-store registration, this is what she found at Morrisons, Sainsbury's, Lidl, Tesco and Waitrose.
With Easter weekend officially underway, many Scots will be getting their last minute supermarket shopping done today before a busy weekend.

Even if you're not shopping on Good Friday, it's important to know that some supermarkets have adjusted their opening hours. If you're unsure, you can check to see the opening hours for major retailers from Aldi to Tesco here.
You can read on below about what Sarah found and how much she paid.
Morrisons

The Morrisons More Card deal allows you to bag Cadbury eggs with a small treat inside for just £1.25 each, but only if you take up the four eggs for £5 offer.
The deal includes Cadbury Milk Chocolate Buttons, White Chocolate Buttons, Mini Eggs, and Freddos.
The least expensive item is the classic Milkybar White Chocolate egg, priced at just £1 with a Morrisons More card. It doesn't come with a treat inside, but it's sure to keep the little ones content.
Sainsbury's
There are some varied options available at Sainsbury's. Terry's Chocolate Orange Popping Candy egg and the KitKat Chunky egg are priced at £1.35 with a Nectar card, or £1.50 without one.
For Cadbury enthusiasts who only need one egg, as opposed to Morrisons' four deal, the same Mini Eggs, Buttons, and Freddo eggs are £1.50 with Nectar.
Lidl
Keeping things budget-friendly at Lidl, the same sized Cadbury Milk Chocolate Buttons, White Chocolate Buttons, and Freddo Eggs are £1.45, while the Mini Eggs egg is £1.49.
